Event Details
Financial abuse among older adults is a serious crime and is on the rise. For many reasons, seniors are more vulnerable to exploitation from both professionals and from individuals close to them -including family.
This event will premiere a documentary that features actor Mickey Rooney as well as local professionals in aging services. After the film, a panel of experts from across the state will address questions such as: Who are the perpetrators?, How does exploitation occur?, and Where can I go for help? The panel will include local community resources including legal experts who will explain how the Florida legal and judicial systems deal with this problem. Please bring your questions and learn how to protect yourself and others from financial fraud.
This event is FREE and open to all community members, however, space is limited.
Continental breakfast will be served.
